[Posted 10/16/18]  What's going to happen on November 3rd and 4th? The BEST horses in the country and the world will be competing against each other in million dollar races.  More importantly, prestige and honor are on the line! The winning horse and the winning connections will be recorded into the history books!  Most of the races will include HUGE fields; on the average, 12, 13, or 14 horses in a race.

  • TIP #1:  PLAY EXACTA BOX!!! Exacta box!  Exacta box! Exacta box!  This is my best recommendation.  Especially in huge fields, it's important to play exacta box bets; not just straight exactas.  Play $1.00 Exacta box using 4 horses (costs $12), or play $1.00 Exacta box using 5 horses (costs $20).  With so many horses in a race, sometimes it's difficult to predict which horses are going to win or come in second.  Last year, the heavy favorites couldn't win or even get second.  So, your key horse may not do anything for you, and you can capitalize on the other horses (usually long shots) with them coming in first or second.  Chances are that the odds of the other horses will be high; therefore, you will be rewarded with higher prices!
  • TIP #2:  PLAY $5 WIN & $5 PLACE" (or $10...if you can afford it) ON A HORSE THAT YOU LOVE!  Just in case you don't hit the exacta, it's always good to play Win and Place on a horse that you LOVE; especially if you think that your horse has a great chance of winning.  If a long shot wins, you'll probably get most of your money back; possibly a slight profit.
  • TIP #3:  WHEEL "THE HORSE THAT YOU LOVE" FRONT & BACK!  Let's suppose you like horse #1.  Be sure to play $2.00 Exacta 1 WITH ALL and $1.00 Exacta ALL WITH 1. Considering so many horses in a race, these tickets will cost around $40.  However, it's worth playing because the exactas could return $100 or more! If your horse wins, you get the full price.  If your horse comes in second, you will get half the amount that it pays for a $2.00 exacta.  You'll probably get most of your money back, possibly more.  If you want to reduce costs, play $1.00 exacta 1 WITH ALL.
